Keith Poniewaz
U.S. Expat Financial Advisor, Ph.D.
Keith Poniewaz, Ph.D., is a fee-only financial advisor who focuses on wealth management for Americans living abroad.
Keith joined Walkner Condon in January 2019 to oversee the newly created Walkner Condon International Team. Not surprisingly, there are many American expatriates who are educators abroad. As a former well-traveled college professor who has lived in several countries, including France and Spain, Keith is quite familiar with that particular expat experience.
Keith has been a financial advisor since 2014 and has previously been employed at Merrill Lynch and Thun Financial where he worked with high-net-worth individuals in both the United States and abroad.
Before becoming a financial advisor, Keith was a professor of literature and language at several universities and colleges both in the United States and in Europe. His most recent appointment was as Visiting Professor of French at Ursinus College outside of Philadelphia.
A native of Madison, Keith is a graduate of the University of Chicago (A.B. with Departmental and College Honors) and the University of Pennsylvania (M.A. and Ph.D. in Comparative Literature). He speaks French and Spanish and is an avid soccer fan.
In the Spotlight
“Before I became a financial advisor, I was a French professor, and one of the things that I really enjoyed about being a French professor that has transitioned into my career as a financial advisor is the chance to take complicated concepts and ideas and be able to break them down to help people understand them. In the case of being a financial advisor, it means that we help people really find their futures and achieve kind of a calmness.”
